Although KBIS, the national kitchen and bath show, was virtual this year, that doesn’t make the product any less exciting! If you’re like me and totally geek out about the latest and greatest products for your kitchen and bathroom then KBIS is a must, whether it is online or in person. I had the honor of being asked to be Designhound influencer again this year for Design Bites. Design Bites is kind of like speed dating but instead of finding a date you’re finding some awesome new innovations being introduced by major companies! This year’s introductions did not disappoint.
Let’s start with these awesome fridge drawers From SKS, Signature Kitchen Suite. SKS is known for catering to forward thinking home chefs. They call them Technicurians! The amazing thing about this unit is that it fits in a 24 inch cabinet space! PLUS it has dual convertible drawers! That’s right! It can go from fridge to freezer and back again at your choosing, right from your phone. Having a party? Make them both refrigerators for beverages. Stocking up? Make them both freezers. Imagine all the spots where you could put it!
Next up was this innovative Chime doorbell from Control4. Now, I know you’ve seen similar video doorbells from other companies, but this one integrates with the entire system in your home. If you see a delivery at your front door you can speak to that delivery person and ask them to put your package in the garage, turn off your home alarm, open your garage door, watch them put it in, and then close the door all from your phone. It’s all integrated into the same system! It can also sense movement in your yard and automatically turn on your exterior lights, again all within one system and on one app. That’s the beauty of Control4, they make one, user friendly, simple system that can control your entire home.
Then there was the tone kitchen faucet from Kohler. You can mix and match finishes to go with any decor. It even has a forceful spray for easy rinsing and boost technology for when you need a little extra water. You can even get this faucet with touch free technology! With all of different sizes and different configurations, the possibilities are endless!
Next was Wellborn Cabinetry. Wellborn Cabinetry is always a great mix of form and function. The cabinets are beautiful but they’re always considering function as well. This year was no exception. They introduced some great new colors. The Sapphire Blue is a stunner! And with extra deep drawers, under sink caddies, pull down shelving and touch to open and close, just to name a few, the function is never forgotten by Welborn.
Brondell was a new vendor introduction for me this year. The product that they introduced, AG+, is an air purifier that destroys 99.9% of covid-19 virus! I mean, how relevant is that for this year!!! It was proven in independent lab tests using live covid-19 viral samples! It combines a UV lamp disinfection and plasma sanitation, which generates both positive and negative ions that both attach to and destroy microorganisms with no detectable ozone production! These can be used in a commercial setting or right in your home!
Next was Miele. Miele introduced their new generation of dishwashers! Who doesn’t want cleaner dishes faster and using less energy. This new dishwasher is a luxury dishwasher geared toward the entry level consumer. Plus, clean, dry dishes in an hour! And the baskets are more flexible for ease of use. They also have new panel options, including easy to clean stainless and new handle options, including the pocket handle, all in a new 18” dishwasher!
Next up Monogram’s new pro range. This sexy new range was created with a dedication to craftsmanship and performance. They took almost three years creating this gorgeous new pro range. It features high quality soft-close doors, smooth glide full extension racks. The brass that is on the burners, the brass that is on the end cap for the handles and the brass that is on the blades of the knobs are all solid brass! Performance and style beautifully combined! It even has chef tested recipes on the app on the panel of the range with wifi and bluetooth capabilities! It makes me want to cook!
And, I happened to save the best for last. No I’m not being biased, the Studio WashTower, the new one piece washer dryer unit from LG won the Design Bites Best Bite award. LG is revolutionizing laundry rooms and laundry routines. It’s the first single vertical unit that’s full sized and fully featured. It features a washer on the bottom and a dryer on the top with convenient controls in the center so that everyone can reach! It features built-in intelligence with advanced cleaning as well. Even though the WashTower takes up half the space, you still get the benefits of a large-capacity washer and dryer able to wash king size bedding! It looks great and functions beautifully.
Most of these products will be available this summer. You can stay tuned here on the Details page for updates or check with your local appliance supplier.
As always I want to thank Modenus and Designhounds for including me!
