What’s it Like to Work with an Interior Designer? How do Designers Work?
In my experience as an interior designer, most of my clients have never worked with a designer before. And, for some reason, people are intimidated to reach out to an interior decorator or designer. They don’t know how we work. They’re usually concerned that we will blow out their budget or make their home look like what WE want instead of what THEY want. Most of our clients don’t know the actual benefits of working with an interior designer either. So, let’s talk about that!

Working with an interior designer can make your life SO much easier! Afterall, we have the talent and the knowledge to whip your home into shape. We have an eye, and the education, to create a beautiful space that functions for the way you live.
Working with an interior designer can also SAVE you money, yes, save you money. We have an abundant network of trusted suppliers, vendors and contractors that we’ve worked with for years.

After our Consultation, if you choose to hire us for Full Service, you’ll make your deposit for half of our design fee. That covers your full design plan. We’ll head back to our office and work on creating that plan for you. Within a few weeks, we’ll set up a time to meet with you for the full design plan presentation.
I love presenting a new project to clients! The look on their face when they see how their room could look is the best! Your full design plan includes a 2D floor plan, so that you can see the measurements and scale of every piece and how it fits, a 3D floor plan, so that you can picture the complete room, a moodboard so that you can see what everything looks like together, and a full, specific product list, with the details of each piece.

We also bring as many samples as we can, so that you can touch and feel and see as much of the product as possible.
During the presentation we explain exactly why we chose every single piece and why we think they are the best options for your home.
Once you sign off on that design plan, you make your product payment. This is when you’ll also make your payment for the second half of our design fee. That covers the second half of our work, so that you can go about your daily life and don’t have to worry about any of it.
We order every piece that’s perfect for your room, in the specific size, fabric etc. We track everything, paying careful attention to the timing. We inspect everything as it arrives, so that if there is any damage, we can take care of it immediately. We deal with any issues that may arise.
In the meantime, we schedule and oversee any necessary contractors.
Once the contractors are finished, and we have every piece ready to go from the warehouse, we schedule the delivery. We call that Install Day! We arrive at your home with our shoe covers, cleaning wipes, etc. and are ready to accept all of the deliveries. We direct the white glove delivery personnel to place everything exactly where it goes.

Then comes the fun part! We style your space with your carefully chosen, personalized accessories, so that your room is complete.
You come home to a brand new space, the one you’ve been dreaming about! We call that your HGTV moment! We can either do that with us there or not, whatever you’re comfortable with.
