What is eDesign, Online Design, Virtual Design & How Does it Work?

We’re living in a strange time when we can’t actually be in each other’s homes like we used to. At Details we have always offered, what we call, online design. Some people call it eDesign. Some people call it Online Design. Some people call it Virtual Design. Whatever you call it, it’s interior design done online instead of in person.

We offer Online Design for clients who live out of our local area, or for clients who want to do the installation of the design, but need a plan to follow. It’s also a great option for those people that can’t fit full service design into their budget. Online design clients get a room plan that is professionally designed. They get furniture and accessories that are carefully selected for them by a trained interior designer. And they get directions for exactly how to put the room together so that they can complete the room at their own pace.

So, that’s what online design, eDesign, virtual design, whatever you call it, is.

Our online design services are super simple for our clients. It’s one flat fee per room and it’s all done through the client’s own private, personalized page on our website.
Here are the easy steps that we go through.
The client purchases their online design service and fills out their questionnaire, all on the site.
Then we meet over Zoom, tour the room and get to know each other.
They upload photos and measurements. We provide easy to follow measurement worksheets.
We create a customized design plan that’s perfect for each client and their family.

Then the client receives everything they need for their room, again, right on the site:
A clickable shopping list that they can simply click and order from.

A Mood Board that shows them everything so that they can see how it all looks together

A 2D floor plan so that they know exactly where to put everything
A 3D floor plan so that they can picture what their room will look like when it’s done

They get a professionally designed room at a lower price point, if they’re willing to do a little bit of the work.
