Everyone is always asking me where I find certain items.
Where do interior designers find everything?
This week I’m breaking it down for you.
This is from a recent renovation.

The pom-pom pillows and blue plant pot are from Country Curtains. I love to wander through the Country Curtains retail store in Sturbridge. They have great accessories sprinkled throughout and their prices are reasonable.

The coffee table, area rug, sofa, and chair are all custom and were ordered through a trade only company. Sorry, but there are benefits to working with an interior designer, like having access to trade only furniture that only YOU will have. 🙂

The built-ins are custom made by a fabulous carpenter named Dave Dyer from Dyer Woodworking.

The granite on the hearth and the quartz countertops are all from Granite Creations in Wilbraham, MA.

The stacked stone was ordered through ProSource in Springfield, MA.

The family statue, the glass candleholders, and BAM letters are from Pier 1. I love Pier 1 because they change out their accessory selections frequently. They also always have great Clearance sections.

The books are from Barnes and Noble. I love to check out their Clearance section for books that are personal to my clients. This client loves Bruce Springsteen, so I added a Bruce book.

The art is from the specific travel destinations.

The statues are the client’s. I always like to try to incorporate anything that my clients love and/or are sentimentally attached to.

The orange corduroy pillows are from HomeGoods as is the succulent centerpiece. The bottles are all from HomeGoods too. You know I love HomeGoods! But, like I always say, be careful, check items carefully so you buy quality items and not the junk they have mixed in. Putting together a space requires sourcing from many different places. You never want to just walk into a store and buy everything from one place. As Nate Berkus says, your home should feel as though it was collected over time. It shouldn’t feel too “decorated”.
This can be a tough thing to pull off when you are completing a space all at once. But my tips for that are to not buy everything at the same place, and don’t be in a hurry. Take your time and purchase from different stores, flea markets, and vendors.
Don’t rush it.
Or, you can always work with an interior designer who has been trained and has an eye for creating spaces specifically for their clients! www.detailsfullserviceinteriors.com/services
