Decorating for the holidays can seem like an overwhelming task, but there are some things you can do now to make the process as easy as 1, 2, and 3.
1. Choose what your Christmas decorations color theme is.
Choose a color scheme that goes with your home’s décor.
If you have blush as an accent color in your home you probably don’t want a traditional red and green theme. There are gorgeous holiday decorations in fabulous colors like aqua, plum, silver, and gold.
2. Go through your holiday decorations now
Inevitably there is some décor that can be thrown away or donated. After a while, your decorations get run down after being put up and packed away over and over. Use a discerning eye and really go through what you have. Once you’ve got only what is in good shape, see if it goes with your color scheme that you’ve chosen. If not, pack it away for another year. Now see what you have left that will go with your theme. Assess what you’ll need to add.
3. Start shopping
Start shopping now for the decorations you need to decorate your home. The stores have already put out their Christmas inventory. If you shop now you won’t be stressed out looking for items when things are picked over and when you need to be shopping for the people on your gift list.
That’s it. Easy!
1. Pick a theme
2. Assess what you have and what you need.
3. Shop for any needed items

Great tips, Wendy! I have seen some beautiful decorations at Pier 1, Home Goods and Target. I’m loving the minimal farmhouse look for Christmas.

I feel ya Darla! I’m actually waiting for my house to be painted.
What color scheme are you choosing this year, Wendy?
I think I’m going with white and green this year, with some silver accents.
