Tropical Inspired Bedroom Oasis
This tropical inspired oasis is actually deep in the woods in western Massachusetts.
And, it happens to be Wendy’s.
This bedroom was in desperate need of a makeover and 2020 was it’s year!
If you follow us on social media then you know how much Wendy loves the beach and all things tropical.
But, when you live in Monson, Massachusetts with a mile long driveway into the woods, tropical is not the vibe.
To get that island vibe we went with a neutral, think sand, color palette with tropical green and hints of blue, think water.
It all started with paint. The walls are Wendy’s signature paint color, Warm Welcome. It’s a warm, off white, with a subtle green undertone, perfect for a beach house.
For a tropical feel we used tons of texture. Tropical texture usually comes from palm leaf palapas, woven hats, beach mats and greenery.
We used nubby woven fabric in a sand color on the custom bed. We used woven baskets. We added tropical plants. We even used a grass cloth wallpaper on the ceiling.
The custom window treatments are in a tropical leaf fabric that Wendy fell in love with years ago and was just dying to use.
The hanging lanterns evoke that outdoor island vibe and add some ambience. You need that in the bedroom, right? 😉
Even the accessories have a nod toward the tropics with sand from their favorite beaches, oyster shells and trinkets from their favorite place, Aruba.
This room is a fantastic representation of Wendy and her husband. It really is ‘them’. And that’s what we tell all of our clients, your home should feel like ‘you’.
We truly believe that the FIRST room that you should design in your home is your bedroom. It’s the room that you spend the most time in. It can be that relaxing respite from the rest of the world!
