KBIS 2019
What Happens in Vegas Does NOT Stay in Vegas!
So there have been some wild times in Vegas, right? Yes.
But, this time, my wild time was at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, otherwise known as KBIS!
Buckle up! This is going to be a long one, but I promise it’ll be worth scrolling through all the way to the end to see what the last sponsor had up their sleeve!!
PLEASE be sure to let me know what YOU think in the Comments and PIN any pics you like along the way!
I was so thrilled to be invited to attend KBIS 2019 as a Modenus Designhound!
What is Modenus and what is a Designhound?
Modenus is a digital resource for design professionals and design enthusiasts.
Their main goal is to inspire and be inspired in return and they have Designhounds, like me, help them do that by finding the best product and inspiration that they can, and share it with their followers.
Having never been to KBIS, attending as a Modenus Designhounds Influencer was a true honor, and definitely THE way to go (think VIP treatment and all of the planning and organizing done for you!)
This show is huge – 600 vendors and over 430,000, yes thousand, square feet!
I’m telling you, there are things that you saw on the Jetsons 25 years ago that are coming to YOUR kitchen!
It’s held in the Las Vegas Convention Center and it’s FILLED with booths with everything from appliances, to countertops, to flooring, to paint, to sinks, to…..anything that you can possibly imagine putting in your dream kitchen or bath.
AND it’s combined with the International Builders Show, IBS, so there’s even more!
So, having Modenus organize for us to see the best vendors was a god send.
These vendors went above and beyond giving us private tours of their booths and providing us with the information needed so that we can share with YOU. I mean, that’s the whole point, right? It’s about being able to offer our clients the very best product for their home.
There may have also been a few treats! Who doesn’t love treats?
I have to start my coverage with one of my favorite vendors ever – Thompson Traders.
I’ve had the absolute pleasure of meeting the Thompson family when I was a dinner guest at their home a couple of years ago.
Yes, they had a dinner at their home for designers during High Point Market!
That’s a whole other amazing story….
But, that does speak to how warm, friendly, caring and thoughtful this family is.
I honestly think that their handmade products are formed from love.
But, really, they are hand made in a company owned factory in the renowned copper town of Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. Their hand hammered designs include sinks, tubs, hoods and anything your heart and mind can imagine.
Adding one of these pieces is like adding a piece of art to your home!
It’s also surprisingly low maintenance.
And, who doesn’t want to support a family owned and run company that truly cares about their product and their customers?
I was impressed by how warm and friendly they were, but I was also surprised by how good for you steam therapy is! I had no idea.
Steam showers can relieve stress and allergy symptoms, promote deep, restful sleep, loosen stiff muscles, clean out your pores, improve circulation and burn calories?!
It’s actually easy to turn your shower into a steam shower. AND, it’s not expensive!
Check out these Before & Afters!
Imagine starting, or ending, your day with a completely rejuvenating steam shower?
Seriously, head to MrSteam.com and read all about the benefits of a steam shower! I bet you’ll be as surprised as I was.
Once again I was surprised by a product line at the Lamps Plus booth.
I didn’t realize that Lamps Plus sells more than lamps.
So, yes, maybe the PLUS should have let me know, but…
They have beautiful mirrors as well as pillows and furniture, etc.
Here are a few of my favorites –
See how different these fixtures look in person and online?
That’s WHY I go to industry shows!
The Wellborn Cabinet was booth was impressive!
Their cabinets were something to see too!
Not only can you have it painted in ANY Sherwin Williams color, but they have tons of organizing options that you can add.
You KNOW how much I LOVE organizing!
From pull out pet dishes, to pull outs that wrap around plumbing, to silverware storage, these were just a few of their innovative options.
The thing that I loved about their booth was that they reminded you that it’s not just about kitchen or bathrooms.
You can create a beautiful custom closet, a pet grooming room, or even beautiful under stair storage with beautiful cabinetry!
If you want to see full coverage of this booth there’s a video on our facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/pg/DetailsFullServiceInteriors/videos
Our next sponsor is the iconic American luxury home appliance brand, Thermador.
Their innovation and quality are exceptional.
They really keep up with what consumers are looking for, right down to the new herb containers available in their refrigerators and their appliances that are operational from your cell phone with the Home Connect App! Through the app, consumers can send recipe instructions remotely to their oven or induction cooktop.
To set the mood, they can dim hood lighting or customize interior illuminations for their Star Sapphire® Dishwasher. And the Coffee Playlist lets entertainers make multiple cups of coffee consecutively for guests — all with their mobile device! (Remember that Jetsons reference I used above?)
Thermador also provided all of the appliances for the New American Home. See them featured below!
You’ve probably heard of Caesarstone, but did you know that Caesarstone is the leading manufacturer of premium quartz surfaces.
Caesarstone BLEW US AWAY with their Beyond the Surface VIP party at The New American Home in Henderson, NV!
The home itself is gorgeous. And the view of the Vegas Strip from the back yard is spectacular!
Caesarstone was right when they thought it would be better to see their product in the home instead of in a booth at KBIS.
AND, having LIVING versions of their 7 new surface finishes was a touch that will not be forgotten!
(I wish I could insert the Boomerang video of us dancing with the models!)
What a stunning way to show us the new colors –
Caesarstone continues to lead the industry with new trends and colors of high quality surfaces consisting of up to 93% quartz.
I did not know the enormous application possibilities that go “beyond the surface”, including countertops, wall paneling, furniture and more!
Who knew you could use quartz in SO many different applications?
Caesarstone was a fabulous host. What a great night!
And, then I came home, only to find out that I won a Microsoft Surface Go from Caesarstone!
Thanks so much to Caesarstone!
I feel blessed everyday to be doing a job that I absolutely love!
But, when I get to go on trips and tours with some of my designer besties and make new designer besties, I feel even luckier!
When I tell you that these are some the most talented people on earth, I’m not exaggerating!
A huge THANK YOU to our sponsors, Modenus, and Veronika, Flo and Sarah for making this amazing trip and tour happen for all of us!
I had the best time and I cannot wait to use the sponsors products in my upcoming projects!
And, thank you to YOU, my readers and my Instagram and Facebook followers for liking and commenting on all of the posts and always being interested in learning about what’s going on in my world and the design world.
It’s ever changing and I LOVE that I get to share it with you!
